About

The journey of a musician who listens to the instrument before playing it.

Musician, music producer, educator and sound therapist. Handpan player, teacher and content creator. Multi-instrumentalist — before the handpan, the guitar: Bach, Dream Theater, Steve Morse, Van Halen. The technical background remains in every note.

His work combines technique, sensitivity and presence, using sound as a path of deep listening, care and transformation. He is a certified Facilitator of the Peter Hess Sound Massage Method, training that grounds his therapeutic practice.

He plays a Mudra Handpan — a Brazilian handcrafted instrument — combining handpan with gongs, Tibetan bowls and ethnic percussion to build immersive soundscapes. As an educator, he leads lessons, workshops and group experiences in partnership with names such as Lucas Itacarambi (TaKeTiNa) and Alexandre Lora.

The Instrument

A handpan is born from fire and from listening.

The handpan Fábio plays is made by Mudra, a Brazilian workshop that hammers every note by hand. Each instrument is unique — tuned by listening, not by template.

standard handpan

Sound that breathes. Unlike electronically tuned instruments, the handpan responds to the dynamics of touch — soft touch, long sustain; stronger touch, multiple harmonics.

Integrated melodic scale. The notes are arranged so that any combination within the scale sounds musical. This enables free, meditative improvisation without the tension of dissonance.

Lessons

Learn to converse with the instrument.

The handpan is generous to those who arrive open-handed. It requires no prior musical training — it requires presence. Fábio's lessons begin with the basic touch, move through hand technique, and reach fluid improvisation and original composition.
